Lochinch Castle is delighted to be participating for the first time in Spring Fling – renowned as one of the UK’s best contemporary art and craft open studio events, encompassing 95 artists in events across Dumfries and Galloway.
Two artists will be exhibiting their very different styles of work in the Victorian Stables at Lochinch Castle, meeting the public, talking about their inspiration and techniques and perhaps encouraging visitors to make a purchase! Michael Clark will be showcasing his traditional oil techniques on linen canvas inspired by places and events with personal meaning, while Steven Higginson’s work conveys a subconscious translation of everyday surroundings through still life, urban landscapes and portrait works.
Dance is a new addition to Spring Fling and Lochinch is delighted to host POLLEN, an intriguing dance performance with stunning creative costumes by Alex Rigg/Oceanallover, performing for one day only in Castle Kennedy Gardens on Sunday 26th May.

Celebrate the creativity of our local artists and take the opportunity to own a piece of art work for yourself. ‘Art in Nature’ is the theme of this year’s exhibition of extraordinary local talent, reflecting Visit Scotland’s 2013 theme of ‘Year of Natural Scotland’. View an exciting range of paintings, sculptures, photography, pottery and more. Meet the artists, enjoy demonstrations and talks or take part in one of the many workshops and family activities throughout the week. Enjoy traditional home-baking and refreshments from Castle Kennedy Gardens Tearoom.
